6:14 And the King Herod heard, for well-known became the name of-him.
  And they-were-saying that, ... John the one-baptizing has-been-raised out of-dead-ones, ...
and through this-reason the powers are-at-work in him.
6:15 Yet others were saying he is Elias.
yet others were-saying, a-prophet, like one of-the prophets!
6:16 And having heard things the Herod was-saying, "Whom I beheaded, John, this-one was-raised."

Flashback: how John died

6:17 For Herod himself, having-sent-off (a bodyguard), arrested the John, ...
and he bound him in a watch, ...
because-of Herodias, the wife of-Philip his brother, ...
  because he-married her.
6:18 Was-saying for the John to-the Herod that, ...
"Not is-it-permissible for-you to-have the wife of your brother."
6:19 Yet the Herodias held-in (something) against-him, ...
and she desired to-kill him, ...
and not could she (do it).
6:20 For the Herod feared the John, ...
  having-known him-(to be) a-man righteous and holy.
  And he-protected him.
  And having-heard of-him, greatly he-was-disturbed.
  And gladly he-was-listening to-him.
6:21 And having-come-about a-day well-timed, ...
  when Herod to-the birthday-celebrations of-him, ...
  made a-dinner for the 'great-ones' of-him, ...
  and the 'thousand-leaders,' ...
  and the foremost-ones of-the Galilee.
6:22 And having-entered the daughter of-her of-Herodias, ...
  and having-danced she-pleased the Herod and the-ones together-lying-up, ...
said the king to-the maiden, ... "Ask me what ever you-wish and I-will-give-(it) to-you.""
6:23 And he-promised to-her solemnly, ... "If anything what-ever you-ask of-me, I-will-give to-you up-to half of-the kingdom of-me."
6:24 And having-gone-out she-said to-the mother of-her, ... "For-what should-I-ask"?
  The yet she-said, ... "The head of-John the-one Baptizing."
6:25 And having-entered 'immediately' with haste before the king, ...
  she-asked saying, ... "I-desire that at-once you-give to-me, ..."
"upon a-platter the head of-John the Baptist."
6:26 And the king having-become enclosed-in-grief because-of the promise, ...
  and the-ones lying-up, ...
  not did-he-want to-refuse her.
6:27 And 'immediately' the king sent-away an-executioner, ...
  he-ordered to-bring the head of-him, ...
and having-left he-had-beheaded him in the Watch.
6:28 And he-brought the head of-him on a-platter, ...
  and he-gave it to-the maiden, ...
and the maiden gave it to-the mother of-her
6:29 And having-heard, the disciples of-him came and raised the corpse of-him, ...
  and they-placed it in a-tomb.
