The two Mary's and Salome from afar have observed Jesus dying in the presence of the Centurion. The women had served Jesus when he was in Galilee, then followed him into Jerusalem and they were not about to leave him now. It was now Sabbath eve. Josef of Arimathea, a council member, went to Pilate and asked him for the body of Jesus. When Pilate agreed, Josef bought a linen, took him down, wrapped him in the linen, placed him in a tomb, and rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. The two Mary's observed where he was laid. The Setting: Golgotha and a nearby tomb. The Characters: Jesus; many women including Maria the Magdalene, Maria the mother of James and Joses, Solome, Josef of Arimathea, Pilate, the Centurion.
